No. 21: Tyler Bell

No. 21: Tyler Bell

The first to submit all his clips, Tyler impressed us to no end with his interpretation, flair and efficiency. He’s the kinda guy, where if this was a competition to fill a vacant filming position, he’d be on the shortlist. But it’s not, it’s a celebration of talent. And Tyler has it in spades.

cover

no. 21: Toby Cregan

no. 21: Toby Cregan

We first met Toby a coupla years back on the south coast of New South Wales where he grew up. We were diggin’ his stuff back then. But now, little boy Jesus! Toby’s film making skills have become first rate. It helps when you’re documenting the lifestyles of some of surfing’s most desired freesurfers. A very likable person, this kid’s going places. Fast.

cover

no. 21: James Graham

no. 21: James Graham

Hand selected by Josh Kerr to be his filmer a couple of years ago, James nailed what every budding surf filmer wants: to make a feature length film on one of the most exciting surfers in the world. The Kerrazy Kronicles, was a raging success, as is James’ career right now, documenting Matt Banting, the aerial wiz’ with possibly the best make rate in the world.

cover

no. 21: Mike mallalieu

no. 21: Mike mallalieu

Mikey’s at a crossroad in his life where he’s realised he doesn’t need the nine-to-five grind to survive. He’s gone shootin’ full time and with a reputable lists of clients like Red Bull and Friday Media and his head around operating a state of the art Red camera, this kid’s got a big future.

cover

no. 21: Owen Milne

no. 21: Owen Milne

Owen Milne. We love this dude. He’s one of the biggest cruisers you’ll ever meet, is stoked out of his mind on surf (like us) and is responsible for some of the best clips to come out of Hawaii this flawless season. His work in the following pages is pretty bloody special too.

cover

no. 21: kaius potter

no. 21: kaius potter

Having recently burst onto the surf film making scene, young Kaius is already making a name for himself alongside the more established guys. A mixture of a can do attitude, an enquiring mind, lighting fast social media message response times and talent, is why he was selected for Dark Chambers Vol. 2.

cover

no. 21: Luke raubenheimer

no. 21: Luke raubenheimer

Anyone who experiences the warm sensation of being pissed on by a dog whilst filming, or having a baboon steal his camera bag at an isolated beach break, is alright in our books. Luka has raw talent. Jake Donlen from Runamuk Visuals knows it. That’s why he has the punk working with him.

cover

no. 21: Dylan Roberts

no. 21: Dylan Roberts

Dylan has a lot going for him. An epic vibe in person and in his clips, refreshing takes on heavily filmed waves and serious ability is why he’s here. Still working the odd retail job to fund his dream, our prediction is in five years he’ll be full time in film.

cover

no. 21: Darcy Ward

no. 21: Darcy Ward

A man of few interview words, Darcy lets his clips do the talking. Who woulda thought of speaking with a bunch of homeless guys about waves, for his offbeat theme. Darcy did and we applaud him for it. Having recently purchased some serious camera gear and with a creative mind, this kid is doing good things and deserves every bit of space here.
